In this post, I’m sharing the second set of Questions of the Day that I’ve created for use in Seesaw. To find out how my team of kindergarten teachers uses these questions, hop over to my original post about our distance learning plan. Then check out these Spring-themed activities and get them all for free at the bottom of this post!
One of the great things about Seesaw activities is that you can add them to your library and assign them as is, or you can edit them to meet the needs of your own class! You can see how easy it is by watching my video tutorial here.
Day 1: Subtraction Number Story
Students read and/or listen to the number story, then solve it by using the pencil tool to draw a picture. They’re also asked to write the number sentence.
Day 2: Find the Hidden Sight Words
Students move the green box around to find the sight words hiding in the picture. They also use the microphone to record themselves reading the sight words.
Day 3: Making Inferences
Students make inferences about the picture by using the sentences “I see….” and “I think….because…” I love the critical thinking that comes out of this! When a student posts a response, I try to respond back with a different inference to show them that there can be more than one way to think about what’s happening.
Day 4: Unscramble the Sentence
Students put the sentence in order, using the picture as a clue. If they get stuck, they can listen to the sentence on page 2 of the activity.
Day 5: Build with Pattern Blocks
Students move the pattern blocks around to make a bird. Some of my students have figured out how to change the size and color of the shapes – that’s always fun to see!
